Even though Nunnelee said in 1997 that he would support the Mississippi Adequate Education Program, he's been cutting education funding every time we turn around. In 2004, he cut $45 million in funding for our schools. And even though our schools are in such bad shape with funding, in 2009 Nunnelee refused to use money from the Rainy Day fund to help. If now's not the time to use that money, then when is? I don't know about you, but it's raining where I live.
In 2001, Nunnelee cut Mississippi State's agriculture program funding by nearly 20 percent. In 2005, Nunnelee said that having to choose between funding for universities and grade schools was "unfortunate." What's really unfortunate is that Nunnelee's gone to Jackson and forgotten about our kids.
